Andrew Dym
Mr. Dym has an over thirty year career developing, assessing risk of, and investing in special situations, private equity, emerging asset classes, private credit, and asset-based investments across a wide variety of industries, asset classes, and situations. Since 2016, Mr. Dym is a Founding Partner of Innovatus Capital Partners, LLC, serves as President and Chief Risk Officer and is a voting member of the Investment Committee.
Mr. Dym serves on the Board several portfolio investments including FC Holdco LLC (non-prime auto finance business), CarFinance.com LLC (Fintech consumer lender), Excelsior Capital Partners LLC (commercial and industrial lender), SHD Oil & Gas, LLC (oil and gas operator), Clearwater HoldCo LLC (energy waste disposal business), and Guerdon LLC (modular construction business).
From 2008-2016, Mr. Dym was a senior member of the Asset Based Value Strategy at Perella Weinberg Partners, becoming a Partner of the firm in 2011. In this role he worked closely alongside David Schiff, Co-Founder, Partner and CEO of Innovatus Capital Partners, LLC. From 2005-2008, Mr. Dym served as Global Head of Structured Finance and Capital Markets and Member of the Executive Committee of financial guarantor, CIFG Services Inc. From 1994-2005 Mr. Dym held senior management positions at JP Morgan Securities, including Group Co-Head for North American Term Asset-Backed Securities, Asset-Backed Commercial Paper Conduits, and Principal Investments. From 1992-1994, he was a member of the Asset Finance Group at financial guarantor, Financial Security Assurance where he was responsible for originating, structuring, and analyzing various structured principal finance opportunities. From 1987-1992, Mr. Dym was an early member of the Asset-Backed Securities Group at Standard & Poor’s Rating Agency where he was responsible for (i) the research and publishing of rating criteria for many of the first securitized asset classes, (ii) the assignment of ratings on debt securities secured by a variety of consumer and commercial asset classes, and (iii) the ongoing monitoring and surveillance of outstanding ratings assigned by the Group.
Mr. Dym received a B.S., Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany, and holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Dym was previously licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in New York State.
